Item Details

The Invite sunglasses by Smith Optics defy standard convention with a combination of bold and eclectic styling. Utilizing an injection molded, Grilamid, TR90 frame and 8 base, Carbonic, TLT lenses, the Invite is an automatic RSVP. This vintage eclectic retro look is finished with a understated Smith script plaque on the front of the temples and a round see-through icon plaque at the temple ends.

As with all Smith sunglasses, the lenses block 100% of harmful UV rays and the they are backed by a manufacturer's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship.

Questions From Buyers

What is TLT? TLT stands for Tapered Lens Technology. The curve of a lens distorts light as it passes thru. By tapering the lens at just the right places, Smith can offset the natural distortion caused by the curve making light pass thru without distortion. The result is distortion-free, what-you-see-is-what-you-get optics.

What are Carbonic lenses? Smith says it's the most impact resistant lens material in the world.

What is an 8 Base lens? A lens' Base refers to the amount of arc in the lens and therefore the arc in the frame. A 6-Base is a more flat, square shape creating a more scholarly look. A larger base like a 9-Base is more wrapped and therefore will appear more suited for active endeavors.
